  • Image Café is a participatory community and salon for visual storytellers, multimedia artists, filmmakers, writers, editors, and creative technologists.

    You want to make a difference in a post pandemic world and shake things up. Members are encouraged to explore all visual storytelling mediums from analog to digital, from still to moving image, from print to multimedia, to think differently and to make a difference.

    The Image Cafe community will enjoy monthly soapbox socials, critique groups and online portfolio reviews. Participants will share their ideas, skills, criticisms and passions with each other in small, informal groups. Mentors will provide feedback and advice. Presentations and discussions happen occur organically in response to participants’ interests and projects.

    Members can participate in and teach skill building classes and workshops, all provided by members and mentors. Each member will be asked to lead at least one session or workshop and/or organise a guest speaker, book signing or artists talk. The goal is to a playful, experimental, cooperative and collaborative environment with a serious purpose, to do good..

    In addition, interested students have the opportunity to take structured classes with Screen Arts School at discounted prices.

    Screen Arts Media will publish community members work on a regular basis, through zines and online exhibitions. We can code and can help up think digitally.

    We are committed to outreach to underserved visual storytellers from all around the world. 60% of membership fees will be used for scholarships.

  • Image-based Strategies For Social Change is a two-month deep-dive into visual storytelling, which will take place in April 2021. The program begins with a two-week intensive seminar and technical workshops, then a four-week period to create projects working closely with individual mentors, and workshops and mentorships over the last two weeks learning how to best design and present one’s work. Outside guests will be invited periodically both to speak and to critique student work.

  • Full Tuition Costs are $2100.00 for all seminars, mentorship, workshops, labs, and final presentations, and can be paid monthly, over two months.

  • There is space for 12 students.

  • The program will be full-time for the first two weeks. Students can expect to commit between 10 and 20 hours a week and can be located anywhere in the world. All classes, meetings, hangouts, and chats will take place live, online via zoom and Vimeo live streaming.

  • Your work will be published on Screen Arts Media through a unique, online, digital show. Fotodemic, cofounded by Fred and alumni of ICP will also publish selected projects when you feel they are ready to be seen. You will receive a certificate of completion and be invited to generate work as an alumni, fully supported by the community, on an ongoing basis.

    Image Cafe is delighted to announce TWO partial scholarships for reduced tuition participation. This is a competitive, needs-based, merit scholarship where your application, reference, and admission portfolio will be reviewed in comparison to other applicants.
